Broad Coalition Opposes "Hidden Agenda" Behind Proposition 98Thursday, May 15, 2008

While we cannot urge strongly enough that all California voters make sure to vote June 3 against the horrible Proposition 98 -- which would decimate rent control, environmental protection and land-use regulations across the State -- we have been seeing encouraging signs that Californians from all walks of life are seeing this measure for what it is and might turn out to ensure its defeat. A very broad coalition of representatives and groups are coming out against the hidden agenda of the pro-Prop-98 backers and financers (ie. landlord groups).

If you or anyone you know is on the fence about this proposition, just look at the overwhelming breadth opposition to this terrible measure hiding an insidious agenda. The coalition endorsing NO on Prop 98 includes the following (this is a very partial list; see here for a more complete list):
